YRI is where high schoolers
become published researchers.

YRI, also called the YRI Fellowship, pairs students in grades 8 through 12 with full-time PhD mentors to produce original research, submit it to peer-reviewed venues such as IEEE and Springer, and compete at ISEF and regional science fairs. 87% of Fellows publish.

What is YRI?

YRI is a research mentorship program for high school students. Fellows are matched with a full-time PhD mentor, spend ten weeks producing original research, and submit the finished manuscript to a peer-reviewed venue. Most arrive with no research experience at all.

Is YRI the same as the YRI Fellowship?

Yes. YRI is the short name and the YRI Fellowship is the full name of the same program. There is one flagship program, plus the Top 1% Profile for families who want the publication, the patent, the venture, and the competition record built together.

Is YRI legitimate?

Fellows have published in IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier venues, qualified for Regeneron ISEF, and been admitted to Brown, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Berkeley, and Cornell. Every publication we cite resolves to a public index such as IEEE Xplore, so the record can be checked without taking our word for it.

How is YRI different from other research programs?

Most programs assign one mentor and hope. We follow the same blueprint every time. Four teams touch a YRI paper: the PhD mentor, a research writing team that takes the draft to journal standard, journal submission specialists who select the venue and handle peer review, and competition coaching for ISEF and JSHS. That blueprint is why 87% publish.

Who is YRI for?

Students in grades 8 through 12 who are curious and willing to do real work, in any field from machine learning to the humanities. No prior research experience is required, and no particular GPA is either.

What does YRI cost?

The Fellowship is $2,997, or three payments of $999, and tuition is settled after acceptance. The Top 1% Profile is $9,997 and runs four to nine months, by application and interview only.

A credential, not a certificate

A first-author paper
An original manuscript submitted to a peer-reviewed journal or conference, with your child listed first. Admissions officers can look it up and read it.

A competition entry
The same research prepared for ISEF, JSHS, and regional science fairs, with the poster, abstract, and defense rehearsed beforehand.

A student who can defend it
Ten weeks of weekly 1:1 work means the student understands every line of their own paper, which is what an alumni interviewer is actually testing.

Admission is selective.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and seats are limited. Tuition is $2,997, with a three-payment plan available. Mentorship continues at no cost until your paper is published.
